Boston fell off our bed Monday afternoon, flat on his face. He cried a little, but mostly just wanted to be cuddled. I felt terrible, but, as everyone tells me, it happens. Monday night he cried and cried, but we chalked it up to teething, because he's been really fussy lately anyway, and he's never been a good sleeper. Tuesday we noticed he cried when we changed his diaper and did bycicle legs (yeah, that makes me cringe now!), and then he wouldn't put weight on his left leg. Brick's dad, Mark, was working in the ER that night, so we decided to take Bos in to get his leg checked out, but mostly Mark just wanted to see him and show him off at work. The X-ray techs shook their heads at us and smiled, saying, "First time parents, huh? Not surprised. The first timers are always over protective and paranoid." Honestly, Boston was making us look bad, smiling at all the nurses, not really fussing at all, and I thought the techs were probably right, it's gotta just be a bruise....

NOPE. HE BROKE HIS FEMUR.

Whoops!! Don't worry, we all have our moments. I have a friend who was jumping on the tramp with her daughter and popped her... and broke the poor kid's leg. Then, later that same day her baby was in a bouncer on the counter {strapped in} and somehow managed to bounce out and land on her head on the tile floor!! Trust me, you're not alone!! :O)
ReplyDeletePoor guy!!!!!! He is such a cutie pie, though. And don't worry- no one thinks you're a bad mom! Stuff happens. Although, you still feel terrible about it : ) Haha
