Procrastination Post

Ugh, moving is such a pain. I could procrastinate for hours thinking of all the unpleasant things I would rather do...like studying for an essay exam (it's final's week) or getting my wisdom teeth pulled (and that's saying something, too, because my wisdom teeth are needing pulled, and I have an incredibley low pain-tolerance threshold. Maybe when I'm sitting in the doc's chair you can ask me if I've changed my mind on that one). But seriously, this dadgum apartment is so disgusting, and who likes cleaning the fridge, the toilet, the ceiling fans, the carpet, the oven, the windows, the bath tub...etc. all in one day? Not me. I mean, I can barely take one one of those things in one day, let alone all. But thanks to a little Disney music and some Lysol wipes, I think the job will eventually get done, and then I will treat myself to a good night's rest when the place is finally spic and span
...But first I have to start.

Wicked Awesome!

Last night my honey and I, along with his family, enjoyed a play at the beautiful Capitol Theatre, where we were thrilled and entertained by the amazing voices of Broadway's Wicked! It honestly gave me goose bumps, it was that great! I would definately recommend Wicked to anyone who has any sense at all of what good music is. Up until this point in our marriage, Brick had sworn off musicals, admitting that, when we were dating and he had claimed a love for the theater, that he was actually lying (I know, I was shocked, too!). However, he had a change of heart last night, and I will remain forever grateful to those most talented individuals who caused this miracle to occur. And of course, thank you, thank you, thank you Tannie and Mark for the tickets! It truly was WiCkED AwESOmE!

Texas, Here We Come!

We have finally come to a long-debated decision about our summer plans. We are selling alarms again, but this time in the good ol' longhorn country of Austin, Texas. Heat and humidity, here we come, ready or not!

Our Little Buddy

Imagine our delight when, early Monday morning we heard a little knock, and a high-pitched, "Bick, Candish!" We are always happy to hear that voice, and to see McKenna's smiling chubby face, so excited to see us! What makes us so lucky to be the recipients of such love? Who knows, but we know we are lucky, and hope it will last even after this cute little two-year-old figures out we are not really all that special or fun or cool. Meanwhile, we'll bribe her with jelly beans, gummy bears, and my latest bribe, homemade Tinkerbell jewelry.

Playing Mickey's piano (where can I get me one of these things?)
Everyone else was nice enough to let me sit in front on Splash Mountain....where I got soaked. Thanks guys.
Those Disney rollorcoasters are pretty wild, huh, BJ & Harv?

The Boys, happy to finally have married Nate off!

The beach (Q' was no a fan)

Hubba, hubba!

I promised a few folks pictures from our California trip last week, so here's me fulfilling that promise. But first, let me tell you what a great time it was. It is always a good time when BJ and Angie Allen are around (not to mention their little boy, Quintin!), then to top the cake off, Harv and Lara Barenz, James Sukhan, and Jordan Bastian joined the party at Disneyland (!!!).

Ok, I have to admit that, as awesome as it would be to visit Cali just for the sole purpose of going to the magical world of Disneyland, we actually went for a wedding (which, by the way, was aMaZInG!) Nate Holliday married the beautiful Brittany (last name??) on April fourth, and we were blessed enough to go and celebrate the occasion. The reception was so fun, what with the great company and the happy couple, the mini donut stand, and photo booth, and overall, it was a great time.
Thanks all who made it that way!

"Do, a Deer..."
