9 Months Old!

In the last month, Boston got his second tooth, swung in a swing for the first time, learned how to clap when you say "YAY!", stand up in his crib, go from his belly to sitting, how to crawl, how to put his binky in himself, give kisses, go up the first few stairs, take steps when you hold on to him, and spit. He also continues to dance when you turn on music, as well as when you give him food. He's eating cheerios, bananas, pasta, and many other things. He is such a happy boy, and loves to cuddle with his mama, and mimic when you shake your head no, clap, and blow strawberries. He loves butterfly and eskimo kisses Everywhere we go, everyone says either, "look at those blue eyes!" or "what chubby legs!"

Summer Nights

Earlier this year Brick discreetly put some tickets on our refrigerator and waited for me to notice them. I obviously am not very observant, because he finally had to tell me he had a surprise for me and I had to look around the house to find out what it was. After a game of "hotter, colder" I finally discovered the surprise: Kenny Chesney concert tickets!

The concert was last Saturday, and it was such a blast hanging out with this hottie! We danced and sang country tunes at the top of our lungs, and since I had never been to a concert before, I had the time of my life. My sweetheart is so good to me!

Billy Currington was the openning act, and he was awesome! He was really great live.

Before Kenny came out, Brick and I made a bet: we picked three of his songs, and the ones that he sang first won. I bet Brick a load of laundry, and he bet me a late night icecream run. I won. What now, Brick? (I'll tell you what, a butt load of laundry for a guy whose name starts with B!)

P.S. Brick got his braces off! Check out this gorgeous smile:

Whoo Whoo! What a hottie!

San Diego Adventures

At the end of June we went to San Diego with Brick's family. We stayed in a beach house on Mission Bay right off the board walk.

Boston's first response to the beach

Brick and I headed out one morning for a bike ride along the boardwalk before it got too hot. I think this was my favorite part of the whole vacation. On the way back we looked out at the sea and saw four dolphins right next to the beach.

Sea World!

One morning we went to La Joya beach, where we got to get up close and personal with the sea lions. Here, they are sun bathing right behind the boys.

Right down the boardwalk from our beach house was a carnival with a fake palm tree for kids to climb. The whole vacation Brick was telling our niece Jocelyn that he would take her there so she could see how people climbed the trees. When we finally took her, no one was climbing, so we had her try it out for herself.

Daddy and Boston had some great times getting dirty in the sand.

Boston's first time body boarding

One of our nights was spent at a Padres game. This stadium was huge! We also had some of the best chicken burritos I've ever tasted at the game, and we ate a huge bag of cotton candy.

Towards the end of our vacation we went to the Mormon Battalion Museum. We really do look a little like rugged pioneers.

The best way to end a vacation? With ice cream!

There was a little booth on the beach selling the biggest, most delicious ice cream cones. I swear they were as big as my head, and we enjoyed every bite.

Bath Time

Boston had his first bath in the kitchen sink the other day. He absolutely loved it! I think he felt like a big boy in such a small tubby. I thought it would be fun to compare his pictures with mine, although I'm a little older than he is in these pictures.

8 Months Old!

In the last month, Boston broke his femur, got his first tooth, learned "da da," and "ma ma," and has mastered the "craw/roll/scoot." He also enjoys sucking on his mama's chin and hair, going after her pink furry slippers so he can try sucking on them too, admiring his reflection in the mirror, and he LOVES when daddy comes home from work. He is such a pleasant little guy, and it is a blessing spending every day seeing him grow and learn. What was life like without him 8 months ago?

Weekend Hike

We went on a beautiful hike up by the temple Saturday. The river was loud and full from all the rain, and all the spring flowers were in bloom. Brick carried Boston backwards in the Bjorn so he could see me the whole time, and he just chatted with me all up and down that mountainside.

As Brick passed the trees, Boston would stretch out his arms as far as they would reach so he could brush his hands along each leaf they passed. He loves being outside...although he would have been happy to enjoy the water from a distance:

Sunshine and Dimples

Memorial Day weekend we introduced Bos to the sun. He loved it.
