What have we gotten ourselves into?

Our new ward is full of pregnant women. There are seven due by October. And babies. Lots and lots of babies. When I had family visiting one Sunday they could not believe the noise. It gets so loud that it sometimes becomes difficult to pay attention. This is my excuse for the following drawing Brick and I came up with this last sabbath day while "listening" in sacrament meeting:

This is what we decided our baby will look like, after 7 1/2 months of dreaming about his perfection. Attractive, huh? I came up with the double chin, smile and eyes. Brick came up with the nose, ears, tongue, curlycue and nike headband. You can tell he wants a basketball player and I just want a happy michelin baby. We are full of high expectations for our little man.

In the meantime, as we are drawing this masterpiece, imagining the joy of parenthood, the toddler in the pew ahead of us turns around and grins. I think, "oh, how cute, he wants to play!" So I smile back, wave, and touch his chubby little hands.

He rears back and spits at me, a big slimy one that dribbles from my knee to my ankle, because I don't dodge out of the way fast enough. The whole ward sees me try, and the rest of the day I get comments about how all babies aren't that bad. His poor mama.

Wait, what am I thinking? THIS poor mama.

I'm not sure I'm ready to raise a boy.

Hats and more hats

My niece Hannah made this cute little piggy for our baby boy. Can you believe the talent? She gets it from her momma, who made me a crocheted diaper bag. I took initiative from them and decided to get busy on some projects of my own. I had a lot of time on my hands last week since Brick was in NYC for more training, so I sat on my rear watching netflicks and making these for our little boy:

And I even made one for the daddy!

We are getting so excited for our little man to arrive!

Just 9 1/2 weeks left! By now he has more clothes than both Brickton and I put together. I love taking each tiny outfit out and imagining what our baby will look like in them. And the dreams have really started, that is when I can sleep! As if it's not bad enough that my hips will be wider once this is all over with, they have to cause me pain while they get there! I really don't mind so much, though, because I know it will be worth it, and Brick has been very sweet throughout the whole pregnancy, and very protective. We had a little scare the other evening on our way to dinner, when I fainted in the car and he couldn't revive me for a couple minutes and he said I was having contractions. So we made a detour to the emergency room (thank goodness his dad works there and we didn't have to do any paperwork or waiting). They made sure me and the baby were ok, but since then, Brick has been even sweeter. I am so grateful to have such a great and supportive husband.

I have no doubt he will be a fantastic daddy.

Lambson Family Reunion

Do not underestimate how hard it is to get a group this large to look at the camera at the same time. I must say, I am proud. Can you believe the Lambsons have almost fifty members in our immediate family? This is the first time almost all of us have been together in years, and it was a lot of madness and noise and good times!

(probably because they are a bunch of rednecks themselves...)

Carrol and his family came all the way from Germany! It was great to see them and sad to see them go.

My parents just got home from the Phillippines, where they served an 18 month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We love their example, but man are we glad to have them back safe and sound!

And all of it would have been impossible without the two of them.

A Nursery in Progress...and other projects

Well I apoloigize yet again for the time it's taken me to update our blog. I promise we just ordered a new computer and are waiting for it as we speak.

We have been busily working on our biggest and most important project...growing a baby. I think we are making project, at least that's what his nighttime kicking sprees tell me. I am nearing the end of my second trimester and I've been feeling great. My sisters-in-law just threw me the cutest baby shower, so thanks to them and all my sweet friends who showed their support, just as they have through this whole pregnancy.

This picture is a couple weeks old. I think since then my baby bump has grown, but this is the only picture I have that shows it:

We've been working on the nursery little by little since we got the house. Brick found a really great deal on baby bedding and accessories, but it was a little plain, so I decided to give it a revamp. It started out like this:

So I did and oil painting to match the theme and colors:

Another project (not baby related) we just finished is the reupholstering of this white bench:

This was actually Brick's idea. Not many people know how creative he is, but I would say between the two of us, he is way more right-brained. So I have to give credit where credit is due!

My parents just got home from their mission and my family is having a reunion here in Utah in a couple weeks, so I'm sure we'll have lots to talk about after the fact. So until then, adios!
